But one company I saw at Best Buy is going outside the bounders claiming that there HDMI cable has something "different" then what the average cables do not have. Look at HDMI connectors as an example, we know they all do the same at transferring a high end signal from your set toP box to the TV and can range in price between $16.00 - $99.00 online. I guess in some cases you will really have to do some test experiences yourself.

Would anyone disagree or am I missing something here? I believe no one could tell the difference given everything else was exactly the same equipment either end of the cable itself. I am pretty certain that if I used a $5 USB cable from Amazon and compared it against the $3.5K one. but a three foot USB cable costing $3.5K. I can see why you might want to use certain materials if you are using very long cables and you don't want any loss of data along the way. you could afford to spend a grand on an app.

Kind of like the $1000 apps on the iPhone app store a while ago, the sole purpose of which, was to demonstrate to others. To me, such things are plain and simple ripoffs. no amount of gold this or platinum that, will make one jot of difference to the data itself, that is being transmitted.

Digital is digital and so long as all the data sent. It's not like audio signals where different materials can and do make a difference to the end result. isn't affected by the quality of the cable itself. One of the odd things i have never understood about upper end digital cables is that the digital information carried in them.
